Mars Moves Forward ~ 29 Jun 2016

After more than six dozen days retrograde, the second least likely planet to be retrograde, Mars, resumes “normal” motion today. Reverting to prograde motion (retrograde motion’s opposite) Mars intends to redirect the events of the past two plus months and sort out mixed results, untangle knots and smooth out the wrinkles of space and time.

Does this mean that no one should have done anything since mid-April? Of course not, but with Mars in Scorpio and the recent events of his retrograde era combined with life’s inertia and ease, a reformed set of priorities emerges. These priorities fire up the furnace of fully-fueled intentions and lead us forward to Mars’ eagerly anticipated action-manifestation alignment with Saturn on August 23rd. Incidentally, from the Sun’s point of view, Mars and Saturn aligned on June 11th.

Does this mean that no good will come out of things initiated, steps taken, projects started until the third week of August? Absolutely not. It does mean that with the reset of intention presently in place, a full progress report is due on August 23rd. Both energy invested and accomplishments achieved require reassessment. Any tweaks as to how fast something is done and with what level of fervor must be primed for immediate action.

Today Venus, the brightest planet, aligns with the brightest night time star, Sirius. On July 5 the Sun, clearly the brightest visible object in the sky joins his radiance with that of Sirius. Both these transits mark the need for emotional dumping and conscious attention shifting. For those who prefer a more delicate terminology for the former, how about emotional composting? Any emotion that has served its purpose and now appears to be an unappetizing psychic leftover, can be put out for natural organic decomposition with the intent that what is left behind fertilizes that which is yet to come. Trust the belly barometer. If your gut churns, it could be the fluttering butterflies of eager anticipation. It could be the natural naupathia index, suggesting that something stands to run amok (amuck), thus alerting your action trigger to engage the moment with a healthy dose of preventive initiatives.

Mars goes direct essentially quincunx Uranus (July 13) and Eris (July 8). These combos can be testy, irritable and over the edge. This is a replay of the Mars pattern to these cantankerous cosmic players around the solstice. Given that Ceres separates from exactitude with Uranus and Eris, let us look for ways to smooth out things, starting first with intelligent and consciously intended steps.

Venus trines Mars July 6th. Intelligent action when aligned with a clearer picture of what is wanted and needed tends to produce more positive results. With Venus in a presumably non stressful relationship to Mars, the quest for fulfillment and contentment progresses by involving others only with and through cooperative ways and means. Define your need, ask for it and when it shows up, say thank you. No demands. No need for coercion. The realization in this pattern: only those whose willing participation can successfully show up to fulfill your needs.

The next day the lunar nodes square the Great Attractor (14 Sag 14). In the world of karma/dharma all bets are off. A balance between what used to work before and what will work now becomes evident. Outdated doctrines can be organically replaced, especially if the recent transits of the brightest celestials were brilliantly applied to clear emotional clutter and achieve satisfactory life results. This nodal alignment asks for open-minded receptivity to anything... ANY thing. It could be the fates and muses have a new set of objectives stacked up for you awaiting your receptivity. Should you feel that a necessary detail is being withheld, keep in mind that the Great Attractor, in its infinite gravity, bends light so much that you can see behind objects. Taking the time to look around the bend or over the next rise in the road instills confidence in the track ahead.

Also on July 7th, the Sun and Mercury, stand together as inner solar system family, boldly opposite Pluto. Here, a bottom-line mental determination of causes and conditions occurs. Work consciousness from the inside out, noting the inevitability of your path. So really, is it not better to willfully pursue one’s greatest objectives and aspirations. In today’s tweetable terms, “a seeker’s gotta do what a seeker’s gotta do.”

Two planetary transiting trines offer support polish off the recent redirection of Mars.

Mercury trines Mars July 10. Here a check list of actions required to take on adventures intended can be written. Whatever you seek to do in the short term, jot down the critical details that assure success. Leave no thoughts unattended. Develop each and every thought into a coherent action- feeding nugget. Sure, thoughts spawn more thoughts and thinking makes more to think about and do. Regardless, permit mental spawning its rightful place. In fact, nurture and cultivate newly spawned thoughts with attentive and equal care to your favored thinking. You never know when that last mental tidbit might come in handy or turn into the missing puzzle piece, whether confirming mental clarity or course of action.

The Sun trines Mars July 16, culminating recent celestial combust-ability. This can be a “brakes off,” “thrust equalized,” “confidence rich” era in which bold strides forward occur with minimal resistance. In fact, those with a sense of karmic direction, feeling the current of consciousness, driven by fecund emotional impulses master inner motivations and likely appear as meteoric streaks above as they rocket off in pursuit of renewed aspirations.

One final note as Mars turns his energy into the mutability of Sagittarius again (early August). We currently comb through the aftermath of a massive recent chaotic, priority-shifting grand square (Sun, Venus, Jupiter, Nodes, Saturn, Chiron, Neptune) in mutable signs. The nodes, Jupiter, Chiron, Neptune and Saturn continue to trek through mutable signs. Mars requires instant response to the urges of the time and when he returns to mutable status, flexibility and instant adjustments need to be the norm.

Say that a person works on three primary projects in any given day. Despite the prioritization by real world time lines, professional pressures and promises made, if a person applies action where conscious attention is obviously pulled, all work gets done faster. Creative effort easily oozes when action aligns with creative interests. The result: more can be accomplished per unit time than might be imagined to be possible.

Sometimes in the course of a day, one might go back and forth between projects several times. It’s okay. Follow the tractor beam that guides conscious attention. When in attendance, maintain full focus and concentration until the attention wanes. Then look for the next energy leap. While it may seem shifty and erratically whimsical, it’s far better than forcing the fit and slugging it out. While Mars can do both, it might be fun to retrain Mars such that he prefers the path of creative ease instead of conflict to his every initiated intention.
